We have talked about natural disasters, volcanoes, super volcanoes and earthquakes. Unfortunately, I've always hoped that these are subjects we would only read about and just learn the vocabulary. On the 11th of March, Japan faced not only a huge earthquake and a tremendous tsunami destroying anything in it's way but they face the danger of radiation due to the malfunctions and explosions at a nuclear power station.
What the people in Japan are feeling at the moment and in the months to come will completely evade us. We can only but pray for them...

Everybody wants to lose weight at some time or other, don't they? But how can you lose weight without ending up, putting on more weight than you had and staying healthy and happy?
The important thing is not to go on a crash diet. You have to eat as much as you need and cut down on fatty foods like pizzas, chocolate, food with a lot of sugar or fried food. You should eat lots of fruit and vegetables. I'd also recommend drinking a lot of water - about eight glasses a day. This might seem like too much at first, but you'll get used to it. Generally speaking if you follow a Mediterrenean diet, you can't go wrong.Another thing you should do, is exercise. Find something you enjoy, like getting together with a friend after school or work and going for a walk or a jog in the park. You could also try cycling or some other sport you think will help you. Some advice for when you are at the beach, is to spend more time in the water. This way you'll have the best exercise for your body while you are swimming.
If it's winter, why not just dance to your favourite music. Dancing tones the whole body.
If you follow my advice, you will soon be fit and have a healthy and happy life.Vivian
